CDO...(or OCD for those of you who wouldn't understand)

Okie dokie, so a little rambling to do about something that bugs me. Why is it that stores do not organize their Christmas cards? Is it because they feel like it looks as if there is a "bigger selection" if their cards are just strewn about all over the place? Is it just simply too hard to keep cards straightened up after careless shoppers throw them here and toss them there? What is it? Whatever it is, it is extremely aggravating! I wish I had taken a picture, but I didn't think about it at the time. I would LOVE to hand make each and every card but that kind of time is not on my table. So, I went today to pick them out, and having the hardest time I started organizing the cards right there, not really realizing I was doing it, but there just HAD to be some sort of system to this chaos if I was going to be able to pick out any to buy. Well, although I didn't realize it, it must have been obvious because store personnel started coming up to me and saying things like "we also have more cards over there". At that point I decided I had better stop, just pick out some cards, and go on about my business. Does this bother any of you as well? What do you all do about Christmas cards?

Well folks, long time no post. But finally my first trimester is officially over, and while my morning sickness was extremely minimal this pregnancy  (i.e. almost none other than queasy if I didn't eat) the fatigue made up for it. I seriously could not vacuum a room without having to rest. I think I'm on the end of that phase though, as I'm not quite ready to run a marathon, my energy is improving. I have several posts that I have been wanting to put up lately, but I think I may just pick out the highlights, and consolidate several mini posts into one long post... so you can be looking for that if you wanna. Does everyone have all of their Christmas shopping done? I am close, just a couple more gifts to pick up. We are going to go get a GIANT live tree this year since the living room in our new house has a cathedral ceiling.  What about you, do you like to  get a live tree? Do you have any other specific traditions you like to do for Christmas? I would especially love to hear about traditions that focus on the real reason for Christmas! I look forward to hearing from you.

Have you guessed yet?
Well, if you guessed that I am pregnant with baby # 5, then you totally guessed right!!!
Can you believe it?
Are you as excited as I am?

I Promised Pictures... You Got Lots of Pictures!

Okie Dokie, here is a mile long post of a ton of pics that I just felt like sharing (in no particular order), oh, and a couple of videos too. Some of these are from "way" back. (several months ago) Which isn't technically way back, but in the life of babies... well, you get the idea.
The following is a video of Ephraim "honking" his nose and thinking it was a pure hoot. He was making Mommy laugh too.
Next are a few of Lydia, she is definitely not camera shy. She asks me to take pictures of her ALL the time, and of course she wants to see them as soon as you take them. So first, she is in her P.J.'s. Then a couple of when we tried out sponge rollers, her hair isn't really long enough. The medium size curlers tend to just slip out while the smallest size makes the curl far too kinky and looks like a fro.
This pic is after leaving the rollers in for just an hour or two, which I think turned out pretty nice. When I used the tiny rollers she slept in them all night, which also would have contributed to the fro effect. Maybe I can try the tiny curlers for just an hour or so and see if that works.
This next pic is of Ephraim "riding'' bikes. He likes to put the helmet on himself and half the time he wears it backwards. Also, I wish I had a pic, but the other half the time he wears it covering his eyes.
Awww, and here's a picture of Lydia lovin' up on Amos... so sweet!
Travel Pillows. Yep, that's what is around the darlin's necks. My kids, (and myself) have a major weakness for anything super soft.
Lydia is so full of love, she loves to give love away. (She can be rough, but loves nonetheless) Here is a pic of her lovin' up on me. Then the others decided to join in, so I got some mommy/kiddo pictures.
Next are a couple shots of Amos, he is ALWAYS the happiest little guy around. I seriously mean always, he is ''pretty much'' never unhappy for no reason. He mainly only cries when he is hungry, or needs to burp.
...and he always has his tongue sticking out. Too cute.
And below, a shot of Ben and I. This is the man who makes it all happen. He is the handsomest, most hardworking, BEST husband in the world. Feel free to disagree, I hope that you wives out there feel the same about your man. *disclaimer* yes we are normal, I won't pretend that I feel this way every second of every day, we do fight just like every other married couple in the world, but I can honestly say I do feel this way most of the time. He makes me feel special, and I love him.
Next, Aunt Becca likes to do face painting on the kids. So, here, she gave Ephraim some whiskers and things. Of course, with him it doesn't take long to get all smudged.

I Told You it was Long... Pics Continued

Here is more of Aunt Becca's face painting. Aren't these adorable?
Ok, the picture below was taken a while back. It's a pic of Ephraim falling asleep sitting up in his crib. I wish I had an old pic to show you, but the funny part about this is that Ben used to do the same thing.
Below is a video I just HAD to share. Amos is only a couple months old in this vid, and he loved to ''jaber'' like crazy. At about the minute mark I tell Amos I love him twice in a row and one could swear that he responds "i love you good" of course it was a coincidence, but this is a video I will cherish forever.
And, we have a thumb sucker. He is my only child so far that has sucked his thumb. My first two took a paci. Ephraim wanted neither, and Amos sucks his thumb. I guess Ben sucked his thumb for a while, only while he was holding a stuffed animal or blanket or something. Until... his dad bought it from him and he never sucked his thumb again. True story.
Once again, just a happy little fellow.
Finally, a pic of Levi. In case you're wondering, yes I love him too. But, unlike Lydia, Levi is camera moody. It can be quite hard to get a pic of him sometimes. But, when you do, you better bet it's gonna be a handsome picture.
Next, another picture of me and the kids. Amos is in this one. Ben took it for me. Ephraim was trying to get away, he did not want to be in the pic this time. I would have liked to have had Ben in this pic, and we did try one with him in it, but, he hadn't showered after work yet, and let's just say this particular day was one of his more greasy ones. Yeah, it was kinda scary.
Here it is, proof they love each other. Levi and Lydia are 14 months apart, and let me tell ya, they can bicker. But, when all is said and done, they really do love one another.
Below is one of those "had to have been there" moments. It was taken a couple of months ago. The men were going shooting or something and Aunt A.K. and Conrad came over for a visit between church. The kids went wild! They like to show off, and they didn't stop running around the wood stove the whole time.
Well, I take that back, they did stop just long enough for me to get this lovely shot of them.
Happy man again. Isn't it interesting how you dress babies makes them look so different? Put them in a sleeper or romper and they look like darling babies, put them in jeans and they look so "grown up".
And this look, let me just say it melts my heart.
Ephraim is OUT. I love these little flannel p.j.'s, got them brand new at goodwill. I also love goodwill. I would also love to take this baby right outta this picture and just sit and hold him for a while.
The next two pictures, they all had just got up in the mornin and all piled into bed with me. Well, they rooted me right out, but they all looked so precious snuggled up together.
The others must have rooted Levi out too cause he ended up in the floor. It doesn't look like he seemed to mind though.
Here is Ephraim sharing some lovin's with Amos, you can barely see Amos' head Ephraim was practically on top of him.
You know, Ephraim can be doggone cute sometimes. Well, ok, he's pretty much cute all the time
This is a pic of Lydia with my papaw Jesse. He is my mom's dad. This pic is priceless because he loves his great grand babies so much, but you don't understand, it is very rare for him to show it. This pic also made me realize I hardly have any pics of the kids with family lately. I'm gonna have to work on that.
Levi and Ephraim peacefully sharing a chair.
Following are a couple pics of Lydia right after a haircut. It took all I had in me to cut her hair, but it really needed it. I pretty much only cut the back. Her hair is soo thin, and it didn't seem to be growing in front, it looked kind of like she had a mullet. So I cut about 4 to 5 inches off the back to even it up. It looks better now, hopefully it will help to thicken it up a little. And it has already grown a couple of inches since then. And yes, that is a pickle in her hand, that girl LOVES pickles.
And last but not least, these last four pics are to show you the massive resemblance between Ephraim and Amos. I mean, I know they're brothers, but it's actually going to be hard in the future looking back at pictures and remembering which one's which. The first two in the long sleeved shirt is Ephraim, the last two are Amos... what do you think? Do you think it's hard to tell them apart?

Sewing Machine Dilemma

Well, it was a dilemma, but I guess it's not anymore... cause Ben bought me a new one. Yep, you heard right a brand new machine just for me! Ok, time to quit being so braggish. It was necessary though. We went and got my old one out of the other house, and from far away it didn't really look damaged. I mean, it wasn't melted or anything, but once you got up close, it looked like this:
And up Closer:
So yeah, all the little parts that make a sewing machine sew were rusted. So, my two options were not get a new one and not sew (unless I did it all by hand which would be ok but a machine is so much faster) which, let's face it not sewing for me is really not an option, so I stand corrected the only option really was: to get a new one. And so, Hubby got me this beauty:
In all reality, we really splurged on this, and let's be honest, given the circumstances (seeing as how we're gonna need new furniture and such things) we really shouldn't have. I seriously, figured I would just get one exactly like my old one. I loved it! It was inexpensive, simple, and it worked like a charm. It made beautiful stitches, and I had had it for 7 years, sewn plenty of things on it even jeans, and I've never even had to change the needle. Yeah, it was a great machine. But, alas, it did not do much. It did straight stitches, zig-zag stitches, and Oh yes, it made button holes...but, that's about it. Ben knew I had been wanting an embroidery machine for a while (I wouldn't mind starting to do a few little projects to sell) So, my sweet man got me an embroider/ sewing machine in one. And hey, maybe I'll be really good and sell lots of things and it will pay for itself. Well, ok, it was a dream anyway. As you can tell, I'm really pleased and I cant wait to play with my new toy!

Well, not with this post...but, I promised you pictures and they are coming. It's just so stinkin' aggravating trying to load pics onto a computer right now. Not that USB cords are that expensive to just go pick up, I just haven't done that yet. Besides, I take most pics with my phone right now. (someday I may talk hubby into buying me a pro camera) Until then... My phone does have a sim card, not that I've picked up an adapter either. So, yeah, the only way I can get pics on here is by painstakingly texting each one of them individually to my e-mail then copy and pasting them into documents THEN uploading them from documents to my blog. I know, I know all you computer savvy people are laughing at me because there's probably a much easier way to do this... but alas, I don't know what it is. So, eventually there will be a pic post off my little darlin's, just... not... today.

P.S. complain, complain, complain... thanks for listening. Ttyl, Canna.

A new... rearview mirror hangy thing!

Hello people out there. It's been a while. I guess I'm ready to start weaning myself back into blogdom. Maybe not weaning, seeing as I may do a major picture post of the kiddo's when I get a minute. So, I guess I'd just be jumping right back in. Well, anyway, here's a mini post of a little "craft" I have done recently. I can't wait to get my sewing machine cleaned up, or get a new one if necessary. There's a TON of projects I've been wanting to do lately.
So, if any of you have looked at the beginning of my blog, you may have come across my handy dandy mommy van post. In that post I blogged about the tie-dyed monkey I had hanging from my mirror. Well, that monkey hasn't resided in my van for a really long time. For several reasons. One, Hubby didn't like it and kept messing with it every time he drove the van. Two, my kiddo's liked to play with it so it was constantly being taken down for them. And third, I got over it lol. So, anyway, my van remained "undecorated" for quite some time. Until... the other day while Ben was driving down the road I got bored and took some paper out of my post-it note pad, and made an origami ball... and then, I was inspired. (and carsick) This idea just popped in my head and I went with it. I was relatively pleased. My little doohickey turned out exactly like the image I had in my head. And I personally think it's just too cute to boot... if I do say so myself.

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Hello folks, sorry it has been so long. I have had a ton going on around here lately. It has been crazy hectic, and I have barely been able to get to a computer. I have debated back and forth, over and over about whether or not to post about why I haven't been blogging. I couldn't decide if it was necessary or even a good idea to share. Well, I decided to go ahead and post, if only to just get it off my chest. Also, I thought about posting pictures, but decided against that. So here it is, my excuse for being mia for the last couple months.

Well, I suppose you are wondering where I have been. Or, maybe not seeing as I only have two followers and they probably know. Anyhow, I will share anyway. May 22 we went grocery shopping. Late, as we sometimes do. We got to our house around 11:00ish pm. My husband and I got out of the car, and there was the smell of smoke. Thinking nothing of it we went up on the front porch, opened the door and TONS of smoke came pouring out at us. The smoke smell was coming from our house! Ben went to the car and got a flashlight and looked inside. The floors and walls were BLACK.We walked around the house and the back hallway was actually on FIRE. OUR HOUSE WAS ON FIRE!! I was scared to death and called 911 immediately. They responded really quick, and it took them no time to put the fire out.Thank God, we weren't home. Thank God that we hadn't got the kids out of the car yet. It seems funny to say this, but we are blessed. It could have been so much worse. Material things can eventually be replaced. My families lives cannot. Ben's brother Aaron used to work at a volunteer fire department, and said that the kind of fire it was the smoke would have just put us to sleep and we wouldn't have been able to get out. The inspector said that a lot of our pocessions can be salvaged. I am just so thankful that we weren't home. My posts may be few and far between until I have consistent access to a computer again. Until then, please just bear with me.

Here are just a few pictures that I just had to share.

Mommy steals a kiss =)

Levi is such a good big brother. He loves Amos very much.

Lydia loves her little brother too, and begs
to hold him all the time. Though sometimes
she tries too hard to be "mommy".

Lydia's hair braided in a circle around her head.
I just recently learned how to do it without
having a "hole" at the crown so we'll have to do
it a little differently next time. I really wish I
could have had all of Ephraim in this pic, that
smile is to die for.
And last but not least, a picture of ALL my babies. This was taken on Easter. They sure are somethin' the little hams!
